When your home is just screaming for a make-over, sometimes a fresh coat of paint is just not enough to add some zest into a space. You could do more and revitalize your home with the tranquil and homey vibe of a Tuscan-inspired interior. Forget the bland and monotonous, the age-old aesthetics is the perfect style for any homebound soul to dive into this 2022.

Imagine rolling hills stretching far against sharply peaked bluish mountains, and just before the hilly horizon are lush evergreens and olives culminating in patches exposing the sunbaked earth between.

Aside from the earthy tones inspired by the Mediterranean scenic, views here are decorative ideas to transform your home into a modern Tuscan-inspired home.

Bare floors with wood or travertine materials. The gorgeous rustic floors are enough to showcase in a Tuscan interior as the solid wood floors and colorful travertine or terracotta tiles are just marvelously striking on their own.

Although, there are traditional Tuscan or Moroccan carpets that you can add if you’re not ready to rip off those plain ceramic tiles. Tuscan carpets usually come with floral or grapevine designs with warm ivory to brown colors of interesting geometric patterns.

Curtainless windows. The floors are not only the ones bare when it comes to the traditional style, as it leaves the windows free from heavy draperies.

You can still add privacy curtains with Tuscan stripes or floral designs. Remember that these patterns can look heavy and colors can range from red, green, apricot, and gold. This window treatment works well on white or beige-colored walls.

Elaborate and distressed metals. Integrate metal elements in your home, such as adding a large distressed metal clock or an antique metal headboard. If you have a bare wall, you can fill in the void with a lovely metal décor art frame. You can choose several wrought iron doors or windows and arrange them beautifully against a beige or golden-hued wall.

If you want to add visuals to your walls, just like in Tuscan interiors, you can install textured or 3D tiles on your wall that simulate the look of cobbles or bricks. But if you’re doing an extensive renovation, then plastered surfaces are great to mimic the look of weathered stone.

Crafted Furniture. Traditional Tuscan interiors go heavy with dark elaborate wood furniture, but for a more streamlined look, you can go with black wrought iron chairs instead. The contrast of the color and material against your existing textured floor and walling will look absolutely stunning. Don’t forget to use a minimum of 2 color hues on your metal elements to create a cohesive look. Tuscan-inspired furniture such as stools and chairs

Warm Lighting and Vintage Luminaires. Layer your lighting choices with interesting vintage luminaires. A favorite of mine are hanging bowl pendants made of glass suspended in decorative wrought iron pendants. If you want a more contemporary version, glass pendant lamp shades in various colors can be an impactful centerpiece in your dining area.

Add vintage brass oil lamps above mantels, buffet bars, or on a niched wall to add character and interest to your interior.

Trompe-l’œil Décor. Have room for more? You can add interesting masterpieces as wall paintings to your walls with the traditional Trompe-l’œil artwork. There are screen dividers with Trompe-l’œil paintings that can be an interesting backdrop or screen for your work-at-home set up and give a true Tuscan architecture impression.
