David Swerdlow – Tuscany Photographer
David L. Swerdlow was born in Brooklyn, New York. He has had a life-long interest in photography and studied in a commercial photography program during high school. He attended the University of California, San Diego and Harvard Medical School. He is currently an epidemiologist working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta where he lives with his wife and two daughters. The family spends several weeks every year in a small town in Tuscany called Casole d’Elsa.
David has traveled extensively and has always tried to capture the essence of the people and places he has visited through his photographs. His images have been published in Petersen’s Photographic and the New England Journal of Medicine. Earlier in his career his work was shown in galleries in Long Island, New York, and San Francisco.
During the past two years his photographs have been shown in several Atlanta galleries, restaurants, the Decatur Theater, and the Georgia Aquarium. His photographs were exhibited at the Town Hall in Casole d’Elsa, Tuscany in 2006 and 2007 and his photography was highlighted in an Italian Ministry of Health newsletter.
David is represented by the Boswell Gallery in Decatur, Georgia. His work is available at the Boswell Gallery and Tuscan Sun Wellness Center in Decatur, Georgia and at Bella Italia in Virginia-Highlands, Atlanta.
