About Me:...And How I Started My Tuscan Business...About me: Hi! I receive quite a bit of emails from readers that want to know what I'm all about and emails from those who have an interest in finding out how I started Tuscan Home 101 and how they too can start their own online business. So, I decided to add a special "About Me page to the website. Enjoy!!!! I’m actually a pretty busy girl! I’m Patrice Walker. I’m happily married to a wonderful man named James. I’m a mom of four great kids. My youngest, Zoe is 5 months old (well, at the time of early January, 2009....) 
I’m a full time student majoring in Interior Architecture and Design. Architecture and Interior Design have always been huge favorites in my life. When I was a kid, and got my first summer job, I would spend my money on 3D architecture and interior design programs. I started designing and creating different home projects for fun, and then began doing my own. I was my first client! I continued to develop a strong interest in designing and prided myself for successfully finding real solutions for home design dilemmas. I love and appreciate quality design styles inspired by many countries, but fell flat heavily in love with Tuscan décor and design. I began assisting friends and family with Tuscan design projects. From there, one of my best friends said, “Why the heck aren’t you doing this professionally?” My concern was that being a full time student, and a full time mom, and a full time wife-- I just wouldn’t have the time to do it! So, thankfully, an So, for the many people that have asked “How am I in school and running a business?” this is my result: I’m able to write, design and assist right here from my web business. It's so smooth, its like my business can pretty much run itself. Besides school, there isn’t much time for a “job outside of the home”… So, my Tuscan business fills that spot. It’s nice to have the ability to create, and share with my readers, my personal favorites and ideas and tips for a beautiful Tuscan retreat. It is great to be able to do it successfully, and not have to worry about spending tons of hours trying to run a business! Especially with the economy the way it is-- so many job losses, etc., I felt it was necessary to build my own empire for my family, and to secure my educational costs.
